Entrance Scholarships
Entrance Scholarship for all new students: $2,000 (automatically awarded and renewable for 2nd year)
This scholarship is automatically awarded to all qualified incoming students who have been accepted into a Booth UC degree program and are enrolled in a minimum of 9 credit hours per academic term.
Entering students must have graduated with a minimum of 80% final average grade or a 3.5 CGPA.
The Entrance Scholarship is available to qualified Canadian, US and International students. It cannot be combined with any other Booth UC Scholarship or Award.
Renewable for a second year of study, subject to a minimum 3.0 CGPA and a minimum of 9 credit hours per academic term.
President’s Entrance Scholarship for high school students: 1-Year Tuition
The President invites you to apply for this scholarship which recognizes a Canadian high school student, or a Canadian citizen graduating from an international high school, who demonstrates academic excellence and who portrays consistent and outstanding dedication to Education for a Better World.
Applicant must be enrolled in a degree program at Booth UC in September following graduation with a minimum entrance average of 90%. This scholarship may be extended for a second year, $2,000 award if certain criteria are met: a minimum of 15 credit hours and a 4.0 CGPA.
The application deadline is April 30th.
Scholarships for returning or transfer students
Business Innovation Scholarship – $4,000
New or returning Booth UC Business Administration 3 and 4-year degree students are invited to apply for this scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded to the student who can demonstrate an innovative business idea. The application deadline is April 30th.
2 + 2 Business Scholarship – $2,000
This $2,000 Scholarship is for a Red River College Polytechnic Business Diploma Graduate who is newly enrolled in the Bachelor of Business Administration degree and who has demonstrated a commitment to social entrepreneurship and is applying business knowledge to building a better world. The application deadline is April 30th.
Scholarships for Salvationist students
Canada and Bermuda Territory Salvationist Award
All qualified Canada and Bermuda Territory Salvationist students will receive a 50% reduction in tuition as an award for their 1st year of study at Booth UC. Cannot be combined with the Entrance Scholarship.
This award is renewable for qualified students for their 2nd year.
The Salvationist Tuition Scholarship* noted below will be available for the 3rd and 4th years of study at Booth UC.
Qualifications include:
- A Salvationist in good standing from the Canada and Bermuda Territory. A Corps Officer recommendation letter is required. Go to the Corps Officer Recommendation form.
- A 70% or higher high school graduation average (or B-, CGPA 2.7 average for transfer students).
- Must maintain a GPA of 2.7 or higher for the second year of the award and receive a Corps Officer recommendation from a Winnipeg Corps Officer (if studying on the Winnipeg campus).
- Must be enrolled for at least 12 credit hours per term.
Salvationist Tuition Scholarship – $2,000 (automatically awarded and renewable for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year)*
This award is available to Salvationist students in all territories, both incoming and returning, with an incoming high school average of >70% or transfer students with a CGPA of >2.7. A Corps Officer Recommendation is required. Go to the Corps Officer Recommendation form. Must enroll in a minimum of 12 credit hours per term. Cannot be combined with the Canada and Bermuda Territory Award.
Major and Mrs. Festus Uko Abara Scholarship -$4,000
This Scholarship was first offered in 1993 and is intended to provide financial assistance of up to $4,000 CDN, towards tuition and books, for Salvationist students from African Salvation Army Territories who wish to study at Booth University College as full-time students. The application deadline is April 30th.
John and Lorraine Gerard Scholarship -$500 each for five students
This scholarship is for five students who are in the Bachelor of Arts – Religion program and who are associated with a Salvation Army Corps.

To guarantee eligibility for scholarships, awards, and bursaries, apply by April 30th’s priority deadline. If your application is submitted after April 30th, it may be eligible on a first-come, first-served basis.

Additional Scholarships
Ritchie-Jennings Memorial Scholarship Program
Through this scholarship program, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) Foundation supports the education of students who have an interest in pursuing a career in fraud examination. Award amounts are $10,000, $5,000, $2,500 and $1,000 and include a one-year ACFE Student Associate membership. For more information, go to the ACFE website.
Additionally, Booth UC will award $1000 to the winner of the Ritchie-Jennings Memorial Scholarship for the current year. The winner must be a newly enrolled or returning student in a BBA degree program at Booth UC. The Booth UC application is due on April 30th.
Harland Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to one or more students graduating from the 4-year Bachelor of Arts program and who are applying for further studies in a theological or professional discipline. The scholarship is payable upon enrollment in a qualified program.

Community Impact Award – $250 per 3 credit hour course
This award is for a new or returning Booth UC student. The student must be enrolled in a degree program, and demonstrate active community engagement and commitment to seeking hope, justice, and mercy for all. The application deadline is April 30th.
Community Impact Award For Indigenous Students Scholarship – $250 per 3-credit hour course
This award is for new or returning Indigenous Booth UC students. The students must be admitted to a degree program, actively contribute to community engagement, and be committed to seeking hope, justice, and mercy for all. The application deadline is April 30th.
Community Impact Award For Students From Frontier School Division Scholarship – $250 per 3 credit hour course
This award is for new graduates from Frontier School Division. The students must be admitted to a degree program, actively contribute to community engagement and be committed to seeking hope, justice, and mercy for all. The application deadline is April 30th.
Life Long Learning Award – $250 per 3 credit hour course
The award is for a new or returning Mature Student who has demonstrated a commitment to lifelong learning with socially conscious leadership in their community. The application deadline is April 30th.
Life Long Learning Award for Students From The Winnipeg Adult Education Centre – $250 per 3 credit hour course
This scholarship is for graduates from the Winnipeg Adult Education Centre. The students must be admitted to a degree program and have demonstrated a commitment to lifelong learning with socially conscious leadership in their community. The award is renewable for one year. The application deadline is April 30th.
Awards for returning students: automatically awarded
The following awards are given to returning Booth University College students by our Financial Awards Committee. The committee selects award winners with input from our faculty and the Dean of Students. Recipients will be advised of their award prior to the start of the fall semester.
Student Life Awards
The B. G. Price Scholarship $250: This scholarship was first offered at graduation in 1983 and maintained by Mr. Bram Price. It is normally given to a student without other scholarship support who is judged a worthy recipient on the basis of academic achievement, involvement in student life, and Christian service.
The Gordon Brown Memorial Scholarship $200: This scholarship was first offered at graduation in 1987. It is normally given to a returning student of exemplary Christian character who is judged a worthy recipient of financial support on the basis of academic achievement, involvement in student life, and Christian service.
Social Work Awards
Fisher Memorial Social Work Scholarship $1000: The annual scholarship will be given to a social work student entering their third year of study at Booth UC. The student will be one of the 3 students who have obtained the highest GPA at the completion of their second year of social work at Booth UC. The award will go to the student who exhibits the most promise and worthiness, as chosen by the Director of the School of Social Work. The scholarship funds will be deposited into the student’s tuition account at Booth UC.
The Charles & Hazel Knowles Memorial Bursary $150: This bursary is available to a student in the Bachelor of Social Work degree program who has a financial need and a significant record of community service working with the financially disadvantaged.
The Edgar & Fairie Halsey Memorial Scholarship $200: This scholarship was first offered at graduation in 1992. It is normally awarded to the second-year student who achieves the highest overall average in the Bachelor of Social Work degree program. Both classroom achievement and fieldwork skills are essential aspects for consideration. The scholarship is to be applied to third-year tuition fees at Booth University College.
Church Leadership and Mission Awards
The Ruth Timmerman Memorial Scholarship $600: This scholarship is awarded to a student who attends The Salvation Army at: 1. Living Hope Community Church, 2. Another Salvation Army church or corps, or 3. Is active in a church of another denomination. This student must demonstrate exemplary Christian character and leadership both in the life of the church and at Booth University College and has a financial need.
The Donnelly Memorial Scholarship $500: This scholarship was first offered at graduation in 1989. It is normally given to a returning Level Two or Level Three Salvation Army student with a minimum 2.5 CGPA who will be participating in missions, preferably outside of Canada. In the event that no mission opportunities are available in a given year, the award can be provided for mission opportunities within Canada.
The Major Bernard & Ann Borden Scholarship $300: This scholarship is awarded to a full-time returning student who attends the Weetamah Corps, participates in the ministry of the Corps, maintains a 2.5 CGPA, shows genuine compassion for the disenfranchised of the inner city, and portrays a servant attitude in their daily living.
The Reg Rowe Bursary $500: This bursary is awarded to a returning student who is industrious, exemplifies Christian character and gives consistent support to their church/corps and has financial need.
