It’s your first step toward programs that aren’t currently offered at Booth UC such as law, education, and nursing. Once you’ve completed 1-4 years of study with us, you’ll be ready to apply for your professional program of choice.
pre-BSW
As a non-award bearing program, the pre-BSW program provides students without the required foundation in post-secondary studies to prepare for their application to the Bachelor of Social Work program at Booth University College.
Program Overview
The pre-BSW allows the student to begin their studies in the Booth UC core curriculum as well as begin their introduction to Social Work classes and General Electives. While 21 credits and a CGPA of 2.5 are the minimum requirements for an application to the BSW program, students can study in the pre-BSW program for two full years (60 credits).
When the student has gained enough credits and adequate CGPA, the student can prepare to apply to the School of Social Work during the winter term for a start next fall. All credits taken or transferred into the pre-BSW pathway will apply towards the 120 credits required in the Bachelor of Social Work program.
