Special Admission Students

Students who don’t meet all requirements for admission but are allowed to enter Booth University College are classified as special admission students. Special admission students who carry nine or more credit hours in a semester or 18 or more credit hours in the regular session are considered full-time students. Special admission students who carry fewer than nine credit hours per semester are considered part-time students. There are several categories of Special admission students. 

Dean’s Recommendation

In a small number of cases, not to exceed 5% of an incoming class, a student who does not meet entrance requirements may be granted admission on the recommendation of the Academic Dean of Booth University College. Upon successful completion of 30 credits with a CGPA of 2.0 or higher, such students will be accorded full unconditional admission to Booth University College.

Occasional Students

Students who are not admitted to Booth University College are classified as occasional students. These students do not register for courses for certificate, diploma or degree credit. Occasional students may take courses on a credit or audit basis to a maximum of six credit or audit hours per semester. Occasional students do not have to complete an application for admission to Booth University College to enroll in courses. Students who begin studies as occasional students may apply for official admission to Booth University College. If admitted, a maximum of 12 credit hours earned during occasional student status may be applied toward any certificate, diploma or bachelor degree program.

Priority is given in class enrolment to admitted students. Occasional students will not be assigned an academic advisor. For more information, please contact Admissions.

Visiting Students

Students who are taking courses at Booth University College by submitting a Letter of Permission from their home university/college are classified as visiting students. Visiting students who are studying at Booth University College on a part-time basis are not required to complete an application for admission. Visiting students who wish to study full-time at Booth University College must apply to enter the University College as transfer students. Math Requirement

Bachelor of Business Administration or Bachelor of Arts – Psychology degree program applicants should include the equivalent of the Provincial Math 40S with a grade of 65% or higher. Applicants who have not completed the Math 40S equivalent with a grade of 65% or higher will be required to complete MAT 100 Applied Finite Math with a grade of C or better in their first semester at Booth University College.
